Dr. Slavica Maksić

1998 PhD in Psychology Doctorial studies at The University of Belgrade. Title of thesis: Conceptions of Giftedness and Attitudes towards Gifted Education. 1990 MA in Psychology Post-graduate studies at The University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philosophy. WORK EXPERIENCE

Since 1985:    Researcher at The Institute for Educational Research.

1882-1983:    Teacher of Psychology at Secondary school.

1981-1982:   School Psychologist at Primary school.

Present position: Senior Researcher (corresponding to university full professor).

Responsibilities: Planning and research for educational projects in Serbia, implementing educational projects, administrative responsibilities; leader of the Institute project „Education for challenges of democratic society“ (2001-2005), and „Education of the young for knowledge-based society“ (2006-2010); director of the Institute (2002-2006).

Membership in societies and other academic bodies: European Council for High Ability – ECHA (since 1992), Ideaccion magazine Editorial Board (1997-1998); Editorial Board of the Journal of the Institute for Educational Research (since 1996).

Other duties and responsibilities: Visiting professor at Teacher College on Belgrade University (2006-2007); the leader of seminars for educators, teachers, and school psychologists in helping children to realize their potential (since 1995).
